Provost Fred Sweitzer surprised Rudnick with the award during a visit to the Allen Library.

Tracey was recognized for her demonstrated commitment to the University mission and its core values of integrity, creativity, and excellence. In their nomination letters to the selection panel, members of the University community highlighted her qualities of professionalism, wisdom, energy, and commitment.

In presenting the award to Rudnick, Provost Sweitzer read comments from several of the letters that were submitted in support of her nomination:

“Tracey is one of the most important people in the life of the Hartt School, and a beacon of quality in the overall functioning of the University’s libraries.”

“Tracey Rudnick’s contributions to the academic quality and standing of The Hartt School

through her leadership of the Allen Library is unprecedented. All areas of The Hartt School,

music, dance, and theatre, have benefited from her tireless, thoughtful dedication to its students, staff, faculty, and administration.”

“She works tirelessly and her commitment to our school is second to none.”

“Tracey is one of the most responsible, farsighted, and organized humans I’ve ever met. She is obviously a great boss for her staff, who are amongst the most informed and helpful of any I know in the institution. And she seems able to create and maintain excellent morale among them, that flows into the entire Hartt community.”

“She comes to her work not as a job but as a calling.”
