The 2022 Writing Contests are now accepting submissions.

Every year, the Department of English & Modern Languages holds writing competitions in multiple categories, recognizing work written in introductory classes (like WRT 110, 111, and 210); critical essays on literature, art, and film; interdisciplinary essays; and original poems, plays, and stories.
We will give away thousands of dollars in prize money.

The competitions are open to any University of Hartford student.

Did you write a great essay in WRT 110, one or two years back? Send it in! Do you have any poems or stories tucked away on your computer? Send them in! How about any essays that span more than one discipline?
