Accessibility in the Libraries
The University's policy and federal law call for reasonable accommodations to be made on an individual and flexible basis for patrons with disabilities. It is, however, incumbent upon the individual to seek assistance and make his/her needs known.
Accessing the Libraries
Parking
The nearest handicap parking is located in K Lot (see campus map).
Elevator
All three floors of the Libraries are accessible by elevator. See the Libraries' floorplans for elevator location.
Service Dogs
The Harrison Libraries comply with all State and Federal laws regarding service dogs.
Technology
The Libraries' computer labs are wheelchair accessible. One library computer is equipped with JAWS, a screen reader for users with visual impairments.
We Can Help!
On request, library staff will retrieve materials from the stacks for patrons with disabilities.
Scanning and/or photocopying will be done on request for patrons with disabilities, with a 24-hour (or next open day) turn-around time. The patron will be responsible for copying costs.
The Mortensen and Allen reference librarians will work with patrons with disabilities needing extensive assistance with computerized research tools. Please contact us to set up an appointment:
