Nov. 5 Deadline for Spring Break Study Abroad Programs
Interested in spending spring break abroad? Apply today for one of the three spring break programs open to all UHart first- and second-year students.
The application deadline is Nov. 5 with space limited to 20 students per program location.
The programs run March 11-18, 2022 and cost $2,750 (with over $80,000 available in scholarship funds just for these programs). With the scholarships, students could spend spring break abroad for as little as $500 (the required program deposit). The program fee includes: roundtrip airfare, centrally-located housing, the 1-credit in special topics tuition, some meals, and the included excursions. Daily breakfast and two group dinners are included.
Students can choose from the following three locations and sets of included activities:
- Granada, Spain - tour of Granada historical center, watch a Flamenco show, explore the hot spring of Alhambra de Granada, visits to the Palacio Dar-Al-Horra and Carmen de la Victoria, a day trip to Alpujarras and participate in an environmental project within Granada
- London, England - bus tour of popular sites, tours of Parliament and Westminster Abbey, visits to the Tower of London and London Eye, exploring Shakespeare's Globe Theater and seeing a West End theater performance, a Street Art or Jack the Ripper tour, and a day trip to Bath and Stonehenge
- San Jose, Costa Rica - tour of historical San Jose, experience a traditional dance class and cooking class, create handmade Costa Rican crafts, participate in a service-learning project with reusable materials and a day trip outside of San Jose to learn and taste Costa Rican coffee
In addition to the included activities, you'll have time to explore the area on your own and see the sites.
