Allen Instruction

Allen Library staff provide assistance and informal instruction to users in the library. Formal instruction in library research generally occurs within the context of Hartt School classes, but is available for any course at the university that has performing arts information needs. Online resource guides and video tutorials are also available.

Single Class Sessions

We provide instruction for single class sessions upon request, via in-person, online/remote, and hybrid formats. These classes build on those listed below, and provide tailored information for specific studios, courses, or projects. To ensure a successful class, faculty attendance is generally expected and active involvement in the session is requested.

Contact Lisa Read (Lread@hartford.edu, 860.768.4840) to set up instruction sessions.

Group Work Sessions

We are happy to host faculty-led group work sessions in the library. To arrange a time for your class, contact Lisa Read (Lread@hartford.edu, 860.768.4840). We recommend scheduling your session at least a week in advance.
