Allen Instruction

Allen Library staff provide assistance and informal instruction to users in the library. Formal instruction in library research generally occurs within the context of Hartt School classes, but is available for any course at the university that has performing arts information needs. Online resource guides and tutorials are also available.

Undergraduate Instruction

The Hartt School has an information literacy course for all Hartt undergraduate students. Information Literacy in the Performing Arts, HLM 020, is a required zero-credit course which introduces students searching and evaluation techniques necessary for undergraduate coursework. This course presents basic reference materials and subject-specific resources in print and electronic format. HLM 020 is offered through the University's Blackboard program.
