Learn to Write, Shoot, and Edit Your PSA at our Free Workshops

Join us on November 23, 2019, or February 1, 2020, from 10 a.m. to noon, for a free two-hour workshop where you will write, shoot, and edit your own PSA (Public Service Announcement) for the “Be An RXpert” PSA Contest for Youth, hosted by FOX61.

The University of Hartford’s School of Communication is honored to partner with FOX61 as part of the Hope for CT Community Outreach Campaign to fight drug abuse. With access to the University of Hartford’s state-of-the-art production facilities, participants will receive first-hand training on script writing, camera equipment, voice-over production, and editing software to create high production value PSA’s.

The workshops will be taught by University of Hartford’s adjunct professor, Jeffrey Goodin and graduate student, Tyler Saari. They will train and support the participants toward completion of a professional, high production value PSA (Public Service Announcement) that is ready to submit.

Jack Banks, director, School of Communication, will supervise and provide additional support by giving you access to resources such as the University’s world-class facilities and equipment, which include a new TV studio and editing suite. Parents are also welcome to tour these facilities.
