John C. Thomson is a healthcare, risk management and insurance executive with over 35 years of experience in the life & health, property/casualty, healthcare, and finance arenas. Mr. Thomson has significant experience in assessing risk exposures and risk financing alternatives; and developing innovative solutions. He has interacted extensively with boards of directors, CFO’s, and corporate risk managers.

John has held several CEO and COO roles in his career. Most recently he served as CEO at HAI Group, a financial services firm focused on the pubic and affordable housing industries. Prior to that he served as the Deputy Insurance Commissioner, for the State of Connecticut. He also served as Chief Operating Officer at Oil Management Services Ltd., Hamilton, Bermuda.

In 2010 he joined GE Healthcare as Director, Healthcare Solutions, providing advisory services to healthcare organizations which improved and sustained financial, operational, and clinical performance for healthcare systems. Outcomes improved patient safety/quality, reduced costs, and increased contribution margins for clients, utilizing advanced process improvement (change management/LEAN/ change acceleration) in conjunction with simulation and predictive modeling.

Beginning at CIGNA Corporation in 1977, John worked within the finance, underwriting and marketing disciplines. Among his experiences at CIGNA was an international rotation where he established the Global Risk Management operation, which was responsible for the design and implementation of risk managed programs for multinational businesses. Later at CIGNA HealthCare he led the middle market segment, offering employee benefit programs including managed medical, dental, prescription and behavior care.
