Academic Based Scholarships

Please see below for scholarship opportunities specific to academic performance.

In awarding your academic scholarship, the Office of Admission considers the overall picture of your academic performance, so that a single factor like your SAT score may not automatically result in a smaller scholarship. As a general example, a typical student with an SAT of 1090 or higher, in the top 20% or better of their class, and with a GPA of at least 3.45 could see an award between $23,000 and full-tuition.

Application Process

You do not need to apply for these scholarships, you will be automatically considered during your admission application review.

Academic scholarships are renewable (up to an aggregate total of four years), provided the student maintains continuous full-time status and a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 (3.25 for National Honors Scholarship recipients). Failure to meet renewal criteria will result in the loss of the scholarship.

 Scholarship Eligibility
  • Scholarships are renewable each academic year (up to an aggregate total of four years), provided you maintain full-time enrollment status, a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and satisfactory academic progress.
  • Students who do not meet the renewal criteria will forfeit the scholarship for the remainder of their enrollment at the University. The scholarship will not be reinstated should the student regain the required cumulative GPA at a later date.
  • Financial need is not a factor in determining eligibility for these scholarships.
  • An academic scholarship may not be combined with any other non-need based scholarship from the University, but may be combined with other funds to meet your demonstrated financial need.
  • Academic scholarships are awarded to citizens or permanent residents of the United States. For information about scholarships for international students, please refer to the International Student Prospectus.
  • Applicants to The Hartt School are considered for talent awards up to full tuition therefore, academic awards will be limited.

Each year, UHart invites eligible students to participate in a competition for our highest tier of academic scholarships who have demonstrated high academic success, and have been accepted into the College of Arts & Sciences, College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions, College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture, and the Barney School of Business.
