Are you an aspiring musician? Looking to perform as an instrumentalist or to gain experience as a live sound engineer? Redtail Records is a student-run artist management and live performance organization dedicated to building a strong community of artists, musicians, and live music enthusiasts at the University of Hartford.

Redtail offers hands-on opportunities for anyone interested in getting involved in the music industry. Our team includes performers, live sound engineers, stage managers, photographers, videographers, graphic designers, blog writers, content creators, and more. We’re always looking to grow our community, and we encourage you to stop by our office in GSU 153 if you’re interested in getting involved!

Interested in the world of television? STN Channel 2 reveals the magic of television—learn to shoot film, edit videos, write on-air scripts, build broadcast systems, etc. Each Friday live at 5 p.m. STN2 airs its weekly newscast. Tune in on campus to channel two or view it live at stn2.tv for the latest campus news, and ‘Watch The Impact We Make”. This year we will be going to Washington D.C. for the Presidential Inauguration so make sure to get involved!

Meeting Times:
Crew Call is at 2:15 p.m. on Fridays at the TV Studio in the Harry Jack Gray Center. General Meetings are at 3 p.m. on Sundays virtually through video chat so please contact us for an invitation. We are also in our office throughout the week in GSU 120G so please stop by! Website: stn2.tv

Why you should join this organization?

Entirely student-run, STN2 is the Student Television Network at the University of Hartford, offering a terrific opportunity to experience firsthand how news is gathered and reported in a television format. Each week STN Channel 2 produces a live news program, with student news and sports anchors, camera operators, directors, and all of the other critical positions needed to produce the program. For those interested in engineering and information technology, we have you covered as well. Students who are in STN2 can earn up to 3 credits for their work each semester!

Also, STN2’s fantastic relationship with its alumni allows our members to acquire internships and careers with NBC, ESPN, CBS, FOX, CNN, ABC, iHeartMedia, WWE, MLB Network, and more!

Want to try your hand at journalistic writing or find out what it’s like to work in the newspaper business? Then you may want to submit an article or take a position on the staff of The Informer, a weekly newspaper run by students. No matter your major, your participation is welcome!

WSAM is one of two radio stations at the University of Hartford. WSAM is a top notch on-campus station, run entirely by students, that streams online. You can tune into the stream to hear talk shows, sports shows, and a wide variety of music shows. They also host live sessions with student musicians and local bands. Their outdoor music festival, Live From the Lawn, occurs every fall semester and has given them wide recognition on campus, throughout the state of Connecticut, and granted them a nomination for Best Festival in the 2020 Best of Hartford Magazine.

WSAM provides students with a unique opportunity to have hands-on experience in the radio industry, the live music industry, and with production and engineering. They welcome students of all skill levels to join their team!

Broadcasting around the region and available worldwide on the Internet is the University of Hartford's WWUH 91.3 FM radio station. Staffed by students and volunteers from the community, it is known for its outstanding and smart music, public affairs, and specialized programming
