Center for Social Research
The University of Hartford’s Center for Social Research (CSR) is located within the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice, and is known for its interdisciplinary research expertise. Sociology, criminal justice, and psychology students are given opportunities to work alongside the CSR team to conduct interdisciplinary research.
Through interviews, focus groups, and the use of quantitative research, the CSR seeks to understand the population receiving program services and promotes having an open dialogue with advocates, board members, and program staff about its research projects.
Among the services performed:
- Program research, evaluation, and development
- Randomized control studies
- Interview and focus group studies
- Ethnographic field research
- Participatory and community action research
- Survey design, implementation, and analysis
